Resident Shi-young (Lee Se-young) gives up on her medical career after failing to save a loved one right before her eyes. She is recommended a part-time job as a medical staff member at a prison by a friend of her father's and begins working there. One day, an emergency patient among the inmates arises, but Shi-young hesitates in her judgment. At that moment, an inmate appears and offers expert advice. The one who helped Shi-young was the former doctor, Yo-han (Ji Sung). Yo-han, who could grasp a patient's condition within 10 seconds due to certain circumstances and was respected as a genius doctor known as Doctor 10 Seconds, was serving time for murder after performing a mercy killing on a terminally ill patient he was in charge of. Shi-young initially rebels against the arrogant Yo-han, but when the patient's condition suddenly worsens, Yo-han urges Shi-young on and entrusts the patient to her. After saving the patient's life under Yo-han's instructions, Shi-young begins to walk the path of a doctor once again. Later, Shi-young becomes a resident in the Pain Clinic department at Hanse Hospital, where her father serves as the director. There, Yo-han appears as the youngest professor. Although the hospital is divided on hiring Yo-han, who has a past of imprisonment, Shi-young grows as a doctor under Yo-han. Meanwhile, the prosecutor Seok-ki (Lee Kyu-hyung), who prosecuted Yo-han in the past incident, learns of Yo-han's return to work and is wary of him as a dangerous doctor.
