The PC-FX (PC FX) is a home video game console released on December 23, 1994, by NEC Home Electronics.

It is the successor to the PC Engine, co-developed with Hudson Soft. This console, featuring high-speed video playback capabilities, saw the release of game software centered around animation. However, it lost the market share battle (next-generation console war) against Sega Saturn from Sega Enterprises (now Sega) and PlayStation from Sony Computer Entertainment (now Sony Interactive Entertainment), both released in the same year. NEC withdrew from the market in 1998, and sales figures did not reach those of the PC Engine.
