Super Rare Work!! Never Released on DVD "Swan's Tears" Complete 6-Volume Set VHS Video
299.00 $
Description
This is a complete 6-volume set of VHS tapes for the drama Swan no Namida, starring Rie Miyazawa in her first leading role.
Despite achieving high viewership ratings, this drama has never been released on DVD (perhaps due to the dark bullying depicted? Or Rie Miyazawa's daring swimsuit scenes?). It's considered a legendary series! Its rarity is so high that a single volume has been listed on Yahoo Auctions for ¥20,000.
With early appearances by Riki Takeuchi, Emi Wakui, and Sachiko Sakurai, the cast alone makes this set highly valuable!
This is a precious piece of work, so if you've been searching for it or want to watch it, don't miss this opportunity!
Synopsis
Seishun Aurora Spin: Swan no Namida (Youth Aurora Spin: Swan's Tears) is a TV drama series produced by Daiei Television and Fuji TV, which aired on the Fuji TV network from April 10 to September 25, 1989. It was Rie Miyazawa's first starring role in a TV drama. The previous year, in 1988, Mikako Koto won a bronze medal in synchronized swimming at the Seoul Olympics, bringing attention to the sport and inspiring the drama's theme.
Mika, a genius ballerina, has her ballet career cut short due to an Achilles tendon rupture. Afterward, at the suggestion of her father's acquaintance, Shoko, she joins a swimming club where Shoko coaches synchronized swimming. However, Mika suffers from aquaphobia due to a traumatic event in her childhood. Furthermore, she faces bullying from Ryoko, the owner's daughter and a top-class synchronized swimmer, and her teammates, driven by jealousy. But under Shoko's strict yet passionate guidance, Mika eventually overcomes her fear of water and blossoms with talent. She grows as a synchronized swimmer, overcoming the bullying from Ryoko and the others.
