Vintage Cigarette Box, Colorful Syroco Box, Playing Cards Storage 1940s, Fruit

Beautiful Vintage Syroco Box, circa 1930s - 1940s. Art Deco design with rich color and texture, featuring carved / molded floral and fruit pattern. Colors include cranberry red, buttery yellow and a honey-hued brown depicting flowers, berries and pineapple.  Rectangular with rounded corners and a fitted lid. Likely made to hold a deck of cards (as pictured) or a pack of cigarettes. Ideal also for rings or other jewelry or any small storage. Felted underside.  SIZE: Measures 5 1/4” L by 4” W by about 2 1/4” H.  CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition! Surprisingly little wear and wonderfully intact color.  Likely by Syracuse Ornamental Company (late 19th C - mid-20th C), which was know for its decorative objects — compressed wood pulp (composite / faux wood) molded into intricate shapes that mimicked hand-carved wood.
