Marigolds are versatile herbs, ideal for edible flowers to brighten your table and as companion plants for summer vegetables! ?:*
Among them, Lemon Gem is a rare Italian herb that grows compactly with fine, lemon-scented leaves, and both its flowers and leaves are edible. It's excellent for organic cultivation as an edible flower and as a companion plant, offering benefits like suppressing soil-borne diseases and repelling pests. This variety is heat-tolerant and easy for beginner home gardeners to grow. Why not try growing it? ?

■ Features
The delicate, lace-like foliage and stems create a low, bushy plant that blooms with hundreds of flowers packed tightly together.
The bite-sized flowers are perfect for edible decorations and have a refreshing lemon-like aroma with a hint of spice, making them suitable for various dishes and desserts. Both leaves and flowers are edible. This prolific, compact variety is heat-tolerant and can be enjoyed for a long season from spring to autumn.
*Please note that the center of the flower can be bitter, so carefully remove only the petals just before use.

Sowing: March - May
Plant Height: 25-30cm
◆ Annual

■ Sowing
Scatter seeds thinly in seedling pots, ensuring they don't overlap. Cover with a very thin layer of soil. Water gently and thoroughly with a spray bottle to avoid dislodging the seeds. Maintain a temperature of 24-27°C. Transplant to pots once true leaves appear.

■ Cultivation Method
Plant seedlings about 30cm apart. While relatively heat-tolerant, flowering may decrease during the peak of summer. Thinning plants for good air circulation, avoiding overwatering, and regularly deadheading will allow for a longer harvest.

As this is an heirloom variety, you can save seeds. Why not try growing it from your own saved seeds in the following years? ?
Let's enjoy nature together! ?:*
