Iwayado Tansu Display Cabinet Tea Cabinet Sideboard Traditional Crafts Mizuya Tansu Iwayado Nambu Ironware

This is an Iwayado Tansu sideboard, a traditional craft furniture from Iwate Prefecture, with origins dating back to the late Heian period (1100s) and officially established in the mid-Edo period in 1783 (Tenmei 3).

This is a high-end piece of furniture with an original price of over 800,000 yen.

The sturdy and wear-resistant zelkova wood is made durable through repeated processes of aging, exposure to the elements, and resting.

The surface is finished with lacquer from Iwate Prefecture, giving it a brilliant sheen that exudes an elegant and overwhelming aura.

Furthermore, the use of Nambu ironware fittings enhances its substantial feel, creating a dignified appearance.

This unit boasts excellent storage capacity with four glass doors, four drawers, and six adjustable shelves. It is perfectly practical as a living room board, bookshelf, china cabinet, or display shelf.

The interior is made of solid paulownia wood, ensuring excellent airtightness that prevents warping over time. The inside is also clean.

This is a masterpiece that allows you to experience the noble tradition firsthand through its superior durability and attention to detail.

While there are minor scratches from use, it is in beautiful condition overall. However, as this is not a new item, please refrain from purchasing if you are seeking perfection. We kindly ask for your understanding before purchasing!
