14.51 $
Description
These are logs used for shiitake mushroom cultivation for 3-5 years, cut into pieces.
Made from domestic Konara oak logs.
The bark is significantly peeled and quite worn, but how about using them for insect rearing?
As shown in the photos, there are individual differences in size, diameter, length, mycelial penetration, and hardness.
Occasionally, insects may be present.
If this is a concern, please heat-treat the logs before use.
? Size
Length: Approximately 140mm
Diameter: Approximately φ70-60mm
Includes a total of 11 pieces.
? Hardness
It is soft enough for a toothpick to penetrate near the bark.
* Hardness varies by individual piece.
* The logs are well-rotted with mycelia thoroughly penetrating between the bark, having been used for shiitake cultivation.
* Can also be used as food for larvae of rhinoceros beetles and other insects.
* Some people use them as perches for adult insects.
? Precautions
* As these are fully matured logs, parts of the product may be fragile. Please handle with care upon receipt.
* Unprocessed for pests, so if this is a concern, please heat-treat or take other measures before use.
* Due to the nature of the product, changes in size and texture, cracking, bark peeling, and the occurrence of mold or moss may occur over time.
* Will be shipped via RakuRaku Mercari便 or YuuYuu Mercari便.
