Description
This shimenawa (sacred rope) is handmade from rice straw cultivated by my father.
The straw was harvested in September 2025.
It has a slight bluish tint in places, which has been intentionally left so you can enjoy the natural aroma of the straw.
Please note that as straw is a natural material, there may be slight variations in color.
We appreciate your understanding.
The total length is approximately 72cm.
The twisted section measures approximately 2cm in diameter.
The shide (paper streamers) are also handmade.
They are said to be inspired by the shape of lightning.
While simple, hemp cords are attached to both ends for hanging. They can also be removed if desired.
The shimenawa will be shipped in a Nekoposu box, with the shide attached, and will be gently curved into a circular shape for shipping.
We may slightly trim both ends during packing to help maintain the shape.
Upon arrival, please hold both ends of the shimenawa and gently bend it up and down to restore its shape.
