The SK-100 is an A-class single vacuum tube amplifier that uses a composite vacuum tube configured with the ultra-triode connection invented in the 1990s.
This is different from hybrid amplifiers that produce sound using inexpensive vacuum tubes and semiconductors.
The SK-100-HB weighs approximately 5kg due to its use of a semiconductor switching power supply. Other manufacturers also seem to offer vacuum tube amplifiers with composite tubes and ultra-triode connections. Initially, I was looking for an inexpensive vacuum tube amplifier, but those I found appealing cost hundreds of thousands of yen. While researching amplifiers, some of which lacked headphone jacks, I discovered the SK-100.
When listening with headphones, there is no left-right volume imbalance, no audible noise, and the sound is stable across low, mid, and high frequencies, with a transparent, powerful, and rich quality that is truly impressive.
