Vintage Navajo Turquoise & Sterling Silver Ring — RC Hallmark — Attributed to Rose Castillo  Beautiful vintage Native American sterling silver and turquoise statement ring featuring three individually set turquoise cabochons arranged vertically in an elongated design.  Each stone is framed in a hand-worked scalloped/sawtooth bezel and surrounded by substantial applied silver drops. The elongated construction, split shank, handmade bezels and dimensional silverwork give this ring wonderful late-20th-century Navajo character.  The reverse is stamped “RC.” Based on the hallmark, period and construction, we attribute the ring to Navajo silversmith Rose Castillo, later Rose Castillo Draper, who is documented using an RC hallmark earlier in her career. Because initials such as RC can have been used by more than one maker, the attribution is presented conservatively rather than as an absolute identification.
