Truss rod cover with Gibson vintage type screws
This is a replacement truss rod cover, an aftermarket part sourced from overseas.
It is made to replicate Gibson vintage covers from approximately 1959 to the early 1960s.
In other words, it reproduces the very thin black top layer and the thicker, slanted white layer.
While it doesn't have the roll marks on the top black layer, it is quite thin.
It's no exaggeration to say it's comparable to the covers included with recent Historic Collection models.
Like those Historic Collection models, it has a slightly slim impression. It's distinct from the bulky regular models.
Unlike the MONTREUX product with its jagged and unrefined white part, this is a very realistic reproduction.
Please refer to the images for dimensions.
Additionally, the following mounting screws are included:
These are reproduction screws modeled after the screws used for truss rod covers on Gibson Les Pauls from 1959.
As shown in the image, they are very close to the screws on the reproduction Historic Collection R9.
(Of course, we don't expect them to be comparable to genuine vintage parts.)
While differences can be seen upon close inspection of the details, simply replacing the cover will significantly change the atmosphere.
Please judge the screw size and specifications from the images.
