Description
This is a double-handled mizusashi (water container) from the Edo period, made in the Ko-Seto style.
The flowing black glaze is magnificent and exhibits iridescence due to its age.
The lid is made of true lacquered black urushi.
There is a small repair on the rim, but it has been skillfully done and is not noticeable.
This item is watertight and can be used today as a mizusashi for tea ceremony.
It comes with its original wooden box and is a well-made piece.
