◆ Masataka Taketsuru (June 20, 1894 - August 29, 1979) was a Japanese businessman born in Takehara Town, Kamo District, Hiroshima Prefecture (present-day Takehara City). He was a whisky producer and engineer, as well as a company executive. He was the founder of Nikka Whisky Distilling Co., Ltd., and was directly involved in the founding of Suntory Whisky and indirectly involved in the founding of Mars Whisky. Due to these achievements, he is called the Father of Japanese Whisky.
